TEKS background

TEKS – Trondheim Elektroniske Kunstsenter / Trondheim Electronic Arts centre – was founded in January 2002 as a non-profit organisation. The Arts Council Norway initiated a process in 1999 for updating knowledge and skills amongst Norwegian artist regarding digital and electronic tools for artistic practice.

I was in 2000 involved as the head of the computer lab at Lademoen Kunstnerverksteder, and in collaboration with the institution and the Arts Council I eventually founded TEKS as a medialab to enhance knowledge about digital tools for artistic work as well as offering affordable access to computer hardware for the same purpose.

From 2005 until 2008, Trine E. Unander, invaluable co-worker from the very beginning, was the head of TEKS.

TEKS is a non-profit organisation founded in Trondheim in 2002.

TEKS is a resource and competence centre that has as a goal to realise and disseminate productions of techno related art projects within all art disciplines.

TEKS is from 2010 arranging Meta.Morf, a biennale for art and technology. The biennale is the successor of the annual festival for art and and technology, Trondheim Matchmaking, that TEKS arranged from 2002 to 2009.

TEKS is a member of PNEK – The Norwegian Production Network for Electronic Arts.

TEKS is funded by the Arts Council Norway and the Trondheim Municipalities.
