TEKS – Trondheim Elektroniske Kunstsenter / Trondheim Electronic Arts centre – was founded in January 2002 as a non-profit organisation. The Arts Council Norway initiated a process in 1999 for updating knowledge and skills amongst Norwegian artist regarding digital and electronic tools for artistic practice. In 2000 I was assigned as the head of the newly established computer lab at Lademoen Kunstnerverksteder, and in collaboration with the institution and the Arts Council Norway we eventually founded TEKS as an open source media-lab. Trondheim Matchmaking Trondheim Matchmaking is a festival project for art & technology that TEKS – Trondheim Electronic Arts Centre started in 2002 as part of the organisation’s strategy for raising awareness of the field of art & technology. The festival ran for eight years until 2009. Meta.Morf – Biennale for art & technology – Trondheim. After arranging the annual festival for art and technology – Trondheim Matchmaking – for eight years between 2002 and 2009, we started in 2007 to discuss changing the festival to a biannual event to try to ensure increased curatorial research between the events, hopefully assuring a quality enhanced project.
